How to Prepare for a Kidney Consultation: Results and Records to Bring
A well-prepared appointment can make it easier for your healthcare professional to understand changes in kidney function.
Bring recent results
If available, keep copies of recent creatinine, eGFR, urine ACR and other relevant blood tests. Older results can also be useful because kidney function is often assessed as a trend.
Bring your medication list
Include prescription medicines, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, minerals and herbal products. Include the dose when possible.
Record blood pressure
If you monitor blood pressure at home, bring a record showing dates, times and readings. Ask your clinician whether your measurement technique is appropriate.
Write down symptoms
Record changes in swelling, urination, appetite, sleep, energy or breathlessness. Also note when symptoms began.
Ask about the plan
Before leaving, make sure you understand when your next blood or urine tests are due, which symptoms need attention and who to contact with questions.
If you are considering an Ayurvedic consultation, you can also bring the same medical records. Nisarg Ayurveda can use them as context for a complementary discussion, but medical diagnoses and treatment decisions should remain with your healthcare team.
Want to discuss your situation?
Nisarg Ayurveda offers complementary Ayurvedic consultation support. Bring your relevant medical reports and medication list to the consultation. This service does not replace GP, nephrology or emergency care.
